Any GIS user group may become an official subchapter of the South Central Arc User Group. In order to do so, a representative from the user group must contact a member of the executive board and submit in writing a request for recognition.

There is no cost to become a subchapter of SCAUG.

Once the Executive Board has been presented with the user group’s written request, the Executive Board will then vote to allow recognition of the user group as a subchapter of SCAUG.

After official recognition, the user group will be permitted to publicize its affiliation with SCAUG as well as use the SCAUG logo in conjunction with any and all promotion of the sub chapter. In the event that the subchapter hosts a meeting, conference, workshop or seminar and collects monetary compensation from said events, all attendees at the event must become a member of SCAUG.

The subchapter is required to adopt the existing by laws and charter of SCAUG as well as establish a chair to represent the subchapter.

Rules:

• Subchapters must establish its own bank account and TAX ID
  
  
• SCAUG will not be liable for any accounting or tax issues
  
  
• All registrations of non-member $30 goes to SCAUG
  
  
• Subchapters must handle own registration and bank account
  
  
• 1-day events, workshops and training not included in 1-day
  
  
• More than 1-day requires SCAUG Executive Board approval
  
  
• Subchapter conferences must be 6-months before or after SCAUG Regional Conference
  
  
• More than 12 vendors requires board approval
  
  
• The Subchapter President must submit minutes to Outreach Coordinator and to the SCAUG Executive Board on a quarterly basis.  
  
  
• Subchapter membership database must be submitted with the membership dues check to the SCAUG Treasurer after the conference
  
  
• SCAUG Subchapter Code of conduct must be signed by subchapter officers and submitted to SCAUG president on a yearly basis
