WORK Location: Fort Worth, TX

SALARY/BENEFITS:  Salary Band 26 (starts in the mid 30s); Employees also receive an annual benefit package valued at $22,000.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Maintain various GIS (Geographical Information System) and map products for BNSF Railway and the Engineering department
  • Maintain maps using ESRI GIS desktop products
  • Develop web based GIS solutions and provide support for GIS data processing tasks.
  • Responsibilities could include support of the engineering estimating team or other engineering groups as needed
  • Develop support documents, practical business solutions, handle map and data requests for business car trips, engineering document support, and coordination of tasks with outside contractors

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • College degree in GIS, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering preferred. GIS certification consideration instead of degree.
  • Experience with ESRI ArcGIS products as follows: ArcGIS desktop, ArcSDE, ArcGIS Server, ArcIMS, Python scripting, ArcObjects, MicroSoft VBA, SQL and spatial SQL. Desirable to have experience with SAP Enterprise Asset Management (PM) and GIS.
  • Advanced skills in the use of Microsoft desktop applications including Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of company operations relative to the Engineering Department
  • Willing to work extra hours to meet deadlines
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills, effective oral and written communication skills

RELOCATION:  Relocation assistance may be offered for this position.

TRAVEL:  Travel may be necessary for this position.
