Introduction to ArcGIS Server - 2 Days - $800.00 per person
ArcGIS Server provides a complete server-based GIS system that supports the use of centrally managed spatial data for mapping and analysis. This course
introduces ArcGIS Server and teaches how to install, configure, and use the product as administrators and consumers of GIS services. Students learn how to
publish maps, globes, and geoprocessing models that are optimized for performance. Students also create out-of-the-box Web applications using Manager and
learn how to use GIS services in both Web applications and ArcGIS Explorer.
Building Geodatabases - 3 Days - $950.00 per person
This course provides an overview of the structure and capabilities of the geodatabase. Students learn how to create a geodatabase, migrate existing GIS data to
a geodatabase, and edit and maintain data stored in a geodatabase. The course covers some advanced geodatabase topics including how to build a geodatabase
topology; maintain data integrity using subtypes, attribute domains, and relationship classes; and create a geodatabase schema. In course exercises, students
work with the file geodatabase and learn how to migrate personal geodatabase data to a file geodatabase and create various geodatabase components.
This course is taught using an ArcInfo license of ArcGIS since many of the advanced features of the geodatabase require an ArcEditor or ArcInfo license.
Who Should Attend: This course is designed for experienced ArcGIS users who want to store data in a geodatabase and take advantage of advanced geodatabase
functionality. Data managers will find this course of particular benefit
Introduction to ArcGIS I - 3 Days - $500.00 per person
ArcGIS Desktop is ESRI's full-featured GIS software for visualizing, creating, managing, and analyzing geographic data. This course provides the foundation for
becoming a successful ArcGIS Desktop user. Students learn fundamental GIS concepts and become familiar with the range of functionality available in the software.
In course exercises, they work with ArcGIS Desktop and see how it provides a complete GIS software solution.
Introduction to GPS - 1 Day - $100.00 per person
This workshop covers the basics and fundamentals of GPS for GIS and mapping applications. A 2+ hour Geo Cache activity is planned outside the classroom to
reinforce points of the presentation.
Open Source GIS - 1/2 Day (AM) - $25.00
This workshop will feature a panel of “open source” experts with varied backgrounds and experience. The discussion will address open source GIS options available
for Desktop technologies, Internet technologies, and Database technologies, including how open source options can be integrated with ESRI technologies. Some products to be discussed may include CAMEO/MARPLOT, GDAL/OGR, qGIS, GRASS, mapserver, mapguide open source, openlayers, tilecache, and
PostGIS. The workshop will also cover activities of the Open Geospatial Consortium and reflect on using open source GIS to mitigate the digital divide by making
GIS technology more accessible and transparent for the end users.
The GISCI Certification Program for GIS Professionals - 1/2 Day (AM) - $25.00
Get detailed information about the GISCI Certification Program for GIS Professionals. Started on January 1, 2004, this is a recognition program for established
GIS professionals. It is a non-examination, portfolio-based system. Strategies for filling out the application as well as detailed information about the history of the
effort and the Institute will be provided. Information about certification vs. licensure and state endorsements of the program will be offered as well. In addition, we
will be covering the entire application process step-by-step. You are welcome to bring your own application materials with specific questions or to fill out during
the workshop.
APDM/PODS - 1/2 Day (PM) - $25.00
This workshop presents an overview of the PODS Spatial ESRI Geodatabase Working Group and the product to date: the PODS ESRI Geodatabase. The presentation
will focus on the structure and content of the PODS ESRI Geodatabase including how the APDM (ArcGIS Pipeline Data Model) Core was leveraged and
implemented to create the PODS ESRI Database. APDM is the ArcGIS Pipeline Data Model, which is a geospatially enabled template. PODS is the Pipeline
Open Data Standard. The PODS ESRI Geodatabase combines the industry standard with the ESRI Geodatabase to create a powerful and effective tool for representing
pipeline data.
Floodplain GIS (OFMA/DFIRM) - 1/2 Day (PM) - $25.00
During this presentation, Mr. Smith will discuss the Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) Map Modernization process that FEMA has underway, the current status of
this huge undertaking within the State of Oklahoma, and what products are currently available to GIS Users dealing with Emergency Management, Floodplain
Management, or Public Safety. The creation of Digital Flood Insurance Rate Maps or “DFIRMS” , counties with DFIRMS currently available and the
schedule of availability for other counties within the State. Mr. Smith will also discuss the topic of Floodplain Administration, the Certified Floodplain Manager
or “CFM” designation, and the State and Federal Laws related to them.
