GIS Analyst

As a GIS Analyst you will be responsible for performing a variety of mid-level analysis utilizing GIS (Geographical Information Systems) technology to ensure the data is up-to-date and accurate; responsible for validating and testing geographic data with the appropriate database; provide technical customer support to internal and external customers as assigned; perform mapping, editing, data conversion, geocoding, and error reconciliation within established timelines; provide feedback to developers on GIS processes, tools, and efficiency to aid improvement; participate in the activities associated with a variety of departmental projects including preparing reports, material, documentation, and coordinating tasks.



  • Minimum of a 1 year Geographical Information Systems (GIS) certificate from an accredited college or university required
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in geography, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), or a related field is preferred


  • Minimum one year experience working in the GIS field required, to include one year previous experience in the 9-1-1 environment preferred

Technical Knowledge

  • Intermediate ArcGIS Desktop knowledge is required, to be obtained through a minimum of two years' experience using ESRI ArcGIS Desktop
  • Basic knowledge of ArcGIS Server administration is preferred
  • Basic knowledge of Oracle Database Management Systems or SQL Server is preferred
  • Basic knowledge of Python is preferred  


  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook required
  • Basic knowledge of MS PowerPoint and Access preferred
  • May be asked to work a shift outside of normal schedule
