Making Better Story Maps

Learn best practices, tips and tricks for presenting your project in the form of a ‘story map’, a web mapping application that incorporates multimedia. We will review the different types of story maps, how to utilize them as both mapping applications and as presentation aids, and then cover ways to enhance those story maps to ensure you app (and your project) looks its best.

Introduction to ModelBuilder for ArcGIS Pro

ModelBuilder allows users to create custom tools in ArcGIS Pro without having to know how to write scripts. Models are creating by dragging existing tools and datasets into a graphic canvas, connecting them, and setting their properties A simple model might display lat/long locations from a spreadsheet, buffer the resultant points, and calculate the area, in acres, of the buffered polygons. More complex models may involve dozens of steps, saving the GIS professional countless hours of manually running processes. ModelBuilder is included with all license levels of ArcGIS Pro.

Web Map Essentials: Adding ArcGIS Online and Portal to Your GIS Skillset

Within the wealth of products and services available in the ArcGIS family, Esri has created a cloud platform for sharing, publishing, and consuming GIS content, called ArcGIS Online or, if behind your firewall, ArcGIS Portal (a part of ArcGIS Enterprise). But what is it? How do I use it? How does it interact with ArcGIS Desktop? This course will answer these questions and more, by providing ArcGIS Desktop (Map and Pro) users with a comprehensive overview of the functionality and uses of ArcGIS Online, as well as a brief introduction to the Esri Maps for Office app. In addition to the basics, this course will touch on topics relevant to the modern online business world, including security, data interoperability, and best-practices and tips for publishing, managing, and sharing your online content.
