Transportation Public Works

This positions will be part of Transportation Public Works (TPW) and will provide support to various divisions within the department.  You will be part of a collaborative team working to provide support for the Asset Management Initiative.  TPW has many public assets including pavement, pavement markings, street lights, traffic signals, signs, sidewalks and curb and gutter.  Your primary function will be providing support for our GIS based Asset Management System. 

Your primary duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Define report specs for users
  • Develop reports for asset management software
  • Software testing
  • Assist with software configuration in Asset Management and GIS
  • Daily end user support to cover both hardware and software trouble shooting
  • Assist with integrating 3rd party software with GIS
  • Provide assistance creating maps in GIS
  • Work with end users to develop standard operating procedures(SOPs)
  • Conduct End User Training and Maintain SOPs for Asset Management Software


The preferred candidate will have experience with at least some of the following:

  • Asset Management Software
  • Configuring Off –the –Shelf Software
  • Geographic Information Software
  • SQL and Report Writing
  • Developing and Documenting Business Processes and Standard Operating Procedures for other

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Business Administration, Public Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • No experience required
  • Valid Driver's License
