Job Description:

CMEC is seeking an experienced, energetic, self-motivated, and resourceful GIS analyst to join our team. Main duties will include graphic production in ArcGIS (field maps, public meeting exhibits, environmental document figures, etc.), GPS data preparation, field data processing, and quantification for tabulated data exports. Compensation will include a competitive salary and benefits package (health, vacation, profit sharing, etc.).

Qualifications:

Successful applicants will possess a degree in GIS (or closely related field) or a professional certificate in GIS, as well as 2+ years of experience in environmental consulting or with a relevant agency.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience with ArcGIS Desktop software (operating on 10.7 currently)
  • Thorough knowledge of cartographic design and the ability to produce high-quality professional maps
  • Ability to perform routine GIS analysis and geoprocessing tasks
  • Familiarity with the geospatial datasets relevant to multi-disciplinary environmental studies available through government agencies, municipalities, and other reliable GIS data clearinghouses
  • Understanding of coordinate systems, map projections, datums, coordinate geometry and georeferencing  

Ideal Qualifications:

All of the above, plus:

  • Experience in environmental consulting
  • Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop or similar software packages
  • Proficiency with database software
  • Experience working with CAD files in an ArcGIS environment
  • Familiarity with Surface to Grid conversions
  • Experience with GPS units and data transfer to/from
  • Proficiency with ArcGIS Online (including webapps) and/or ArcGIS Pro
