This workshop is intended to familiarize beginners with the ArcPro interface and to introduce fundamental tools used for both common analyses and creating basic maps. This workshop will teach you the ins and outs of the scripting language Arcade, which is used throughout the ArcGIS product line. As the technology advances, Esri is incorporating Arcade into tools you use everyday as well as web apps that you may build. These include attribute value calculations, symbology, and labelling on the simple end to specialized pop-up displays and controlling your dashboards on the complex end. As you implement more and more of the Esri products for your desktop and web uses, you will find that knowing how to write Arcade scripts is essential.

Maps, especially interactive maps, help us to disseminate and visualize geospatial data in an increasingly digital world. In many ways, our geospatial data represents our organization’s purpose and mission. ArcGIS Online (AGOL) is a web-based GIS platform which hosts a collection of tools, services, and applications for ease of data management and sharing. This workshop is designed for beginners to gain a basic familiarity with the interface, fundamental tools, services, and sharing capabilities. By integrating layers, maps, and apps you will practice effectively communicating geospatial information; and, by the end of the workshop, you will have an interactive mapping application.
