Call out to our SCAUG colleagues to either join as a participant or potentially a workshop and/or seminar presenter at our GIS Day. Maybe you would also consider setting up a booth at the event (no cost). Great opportunity to network with other SMEs in the field, but also to educate and inform students and faculty that hail from secondary and higher education campuses. Build the next generation of professionals in the field.

Overview:
We plan to have GIS & SRVY professional workshops and seminars to be help during our upcoming GIS Day in November. We have presentation rooms and PC labs available. These workshops and seminars will be strictly for SRVY, ENGR and GIS SMEs in industry, government and academics. I figure many of the workshops especially, will have a fee attached. Our Dean of Continuing Education said that we can apply Del Mar College CEUs and a CE certificate to the said workshops and seminars for professional accountability. I hope that you and/or one of your colleagues from SCAUG are interested. Of course we will also be holding the very successful 6-12 grade student and faculty GIS Day event the same day and location. So we hope we can count on SCAUG as well as our GIS & SRVY industry and government colleagues to partake as participants and or presenters. Plus demonstration and presentation booths for all participants.
This will be the 16th Annual GIS Day of the Coastal Bend. Over the last three years we have had upwards of 1500 participants per seasonal event. Now we plan to expand the Professional workshop track to include all SME’s in industry and government.
We plan to invite both the local chapters, the CBGISUG and the TSPS to hold their quarterly meeting at the Center for Economic Development on GIS Day. We hope to have our friends form the RGAUG join us again too.
We have already registered both events with the ESRI GIS Day site.
