GIS Technology is Changing Our World 

On Wednesday, November 13, students, professionals and the general community are invited to attend this year's Coastal Bend GIS Day, "The Science of Where," to learn more about GIS technology applications and see their use in action. The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Del Mar College's Center for Economic Development located at 3209 S. Staples (map), and is offered at no charge to attendees.

Professional Track: How GIS Can Help Your Industry or Business - This professional development opportunity features experts covering Geomatics, GIS, Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and Geosciences in fields such as energy exploration, geology, agriculture, land and wildlife management, civil engineering, surveying, transportation, utilities, videography and many more.

Education Track: Builds GIS awareness among students and educators in grades 6-12 and higher education.

 

The general public is welcome to participate in either track to learn more about how GIS technology impacts the community and the job opportunities that GIS applications provide.
