Title: Building Geospatial Applications Using AI
Abstract:
AI is reshaping geospatial application delivery by dramatically reducing the time, cost, and effort required to build solutions. This presentation shares two real-world approaches used at Williams. The first perspective follows a GIS software developer leveraging AI models to modernize and replace legacy applications, accelerating development cycles while improving maintainability and user experience. The second highlights a non-software developer using an AI development platform to transform recurring support issues, service requests, and operational pain points into functional geospatial solutions. Together, these examples demonstrate how AI is expanding application development beyond traditional software teams, shortening the path from concept to deployment, and enabling rapid response to business needs. By combining domain expertise with AI-driven development, teams can convert institutional knowledge and known pain points into practical solutions in a fraction of the time previously required. Attendees will gain insights into lessons learned, measurable efficiencies, and the emerging role AI is playing in the future of geospatial application development.

Abstract: Management of a Cathodic Protection system is a collection of geospatial based activities. Fully embracing a geospatial approach to the regulatory required activities of mapping, compliance dates, and inspections can simplify the lives of cathodic protection professionals by consolidating these often-separate silos of information into a single source of truth in ArcGIS. This session will help users to understand how ArcGIS can provide a comprehensive understanding of CP systems, while also simplifying the data management systems managed by IT.
