Alamo GIS Users Group announces the San Antonio GIS Day, November 18, 2009.
A variety of professional GIS users will display completed projects and presentations will conducted to demonstrate the multitude of uses GIS has. Participants represent a multitude of disciplines, from government to the private sector. Students, professionals, and the public are invited to come and see what GIS can do! Held each year on the Wednesday of National Geographic Society’s Geography Awareness Week (November 16–20 in 2009), GIS Day is a global event to make people aware of geographic information system (GIS) technology and the important contributions it makes in the fields of science, technology, information, and the humanities. San Antonio GIS Day provides an opportunity for those interested in learning about GIS to see its applications in action.
